Area of Cross-Section of a Sphere
If the radius of the cross-sectional circle is $$\rho$$:
$$A=\pi\rho^2$$
Using $$\rho^2=R^2-d^2$$:
$$A=\pi(R^2-d^2)$$
Usage
- Used to find the area of the circular section made by a plane through a sphere.
