Distance Ratio of a Point from Two Parallel Planes

For parallel planes:

$$P_1=0$$

and:

$$P_2=0$$

the ratio of perpendicular distances of a point $$p$$ from the planes is:

$$\frac{d_1}{d_2}=\frac{|P_1|}{|P_2|}$$

when both plane equations have the same normalized coefficients.

Usage

- Used in ratio and section-type problems involving parallel planes.
