Orthogonal Spheres

Two spheres with centres $$C_1,C_2$$ and radii $$r_1,r_2$$ intersect orthogonally if:

$$C_1C_2^2=r_1^2+r_2^2$$

Terminology

- Orthogonal spheres: Spheres whose surfaces intersect at right angles.

Usage

- Used to test orthogonal intersection of two spheres.
