Plane Tangent to a Sphere at a Point
For sphere:
$$(x-a)^2+(y-b)^2+(z-c)^2=r^2$$
and point of contact $$P(x_1,y_1,z_1)$$:
$$(x_1-a)(x-a)+(y_1-b)(y-b)+(z_1-c)(z-c)=r^2$$
Usage
- Used to obtain the tangent plane at a specified point on a sphere.
