The MAT exam is conducted in multiple February, May, September, and December sessions. It is the only MBA entrance exam in India in which candidates can choose from Paper Based Test (PBT), Computer Based Test (CBT) and Internet Based Test (IBT) modes. The AIMA MAT has released the updated exam pattern for the MAT 2024 May exam, which will have 150 questions instead of 200 and a 120-minute exam period. What is AIMA MAT Exam?
The full form of AIMA MAT is All India Management Association Management Aptitude Test. It is a standardized national-level MBA entrance exam. Since 1988, Business Schools have used the Management Aptitude Test (MAT) to help screen applicants for admission to MBA and related programs. In 2003, the Ministry of Education under the Government of India authorized MAT as a nationwide exam. With its improved topic focus, friendly exam duration, and streamlined exam sections, MAT is now a modern admission exam. The MAT can be a pass to more than 600 B-schools in India.

MAT Exam: Eligibility Criteria

- Academic Qualification: You must hold a recognized Bachelor’s Degree of at least 3 years duration or an equivalent qualification in any discipline.
- Final Year Students: All aspirants who are in the final year of their Bachelor’s Degree and will complete their degree before they join their college are eligible to apply for MAT.
- Age Bar: There is no age restriction for candidates wishing to appear for the XAT 2025 exam.
MAT Exam: Registration Process
To register for the MAT exam, follow these simple steps:
- Visit the official website: https://mat.aima.in.
- Choose your payment method: Credit Card, Debit Card (ATM Card), Net Banking, UPI, or Paytm wallet.
- Pay the registration fee:
- For a single test type (IBT, PBT, or CBT), the fee is ₹2100.
- For two test types (Double IBT, IBT + PBT, PBT + CBT, or CBT + IBT), the fee is ₹3300.
After payment, fill in the required details and complete the registration form. Make sure all information is correct before submitting. You will receive a confirmation once your registration is successful.
MAT Exam: Mode Of Test
The MAT exam is a candidate-friendly exam. It has multiple modes. You can choose according to your wish. Here are the following modes:
(i) Remote Proctored Internet Based Test (IBT) or
(ii) Paper Based Test (PBT) or
(iii) Computer Based Test (CBT) or
(iv) Paper Based Test and Remote Proctored Internet Based Test (PBT+IBT) or
(v) Double Remote Proctored Internet Based Test (IBT+IBT) or
(vi) Computer Based Test and Remote Proctored Internet Based Test (CBT+IBT) or
(vii) Paper Based Test and Computer Based Test (PBT+CBT)
- You can opt for an additional mode of test (e.g. IBT+IBT, PBT+CBT, IBT+PBT, IBT+CBT) by paying an extra fee of ₹1200/- in addition to ₹2100/-.
- Students opting for additional tests will have the benefit of selecting an additional 2 Management Institutes for sending their scores in addition to the existing option of selecting 5 Management Institutes i.e. they can select 7 Management Institutes in total.

MAT Exam: Admit Card
MAT admit cards for all three test modes (IBT, PBT, and CBT) are issued on different dates. Registered candidates can download their MAT admit card 2024 using their login credentials. Here are the steps to download your admit card:
- Go to the AIMA-MAT website.
- Click on the "Download Admit Card" option.
- Enter your login details.
- Your dashboard will open, and you can download your admit card.
All provisionally registered candidates for IBT, PBT, or CBT must download their admit card from the MAT website https://mat.aima.in/ as per the given schedule.
The admit card includes important information such as the candidate's name, form number, roll number, test date, test time, and test venue address. Candidates must strictly follow the date and time mentioned on their admit card.
MAT Exam: Result
The MAT result cum scorecard is issued to candidates online. To download your MAT result cum scorecard, follow these steps:
- Open the AIMA MAT website.
- Enter your application ID and password in the login tab.
- Go to the 'scorecard' section.
- Download your MAT scorecard.
Candidates can easily access their results by using their login credentials on the official website. The scorecard provides detailed information about the candidate's performance in the exam. Make sure to download and save your scorecard for future reference.
