Tangent Parallel to the y-Axis

For an implicitly or parametrically represented curve, a vertical tangent occurs when:

$$\frac{dx}{dy}=0$$

provided the corresponding derivative exists.

Usage

- Used to identify vertical tangents when the curve is not conveniently written as $$y=f(x)$$.
