Limit of a Function

If $$f(x)$$ approaches a finite value $$l$$ as $$x$$ approaches $$a$$, then:

$$\lim_{x\to a}f(x)=L$$

Terminology

- $$x\to a$$ → $$x$$ approaches $$a$$.

- $$l$$ → Limiting value of $$f(x)$$.

Usage

- Used to determine the value approached by a function near a particular point.
