The left-hand limit of $$f(x)$$ at $$x=a$$ is:

$$\lim_{x\to a^-}f(x)$$

Terminology

- $$x\to a^-$$ → $$x$$ approaches $$a$$ from values less than $$a$$.

Usage

- Used when the behaviour of a function immediately to the left of a point is required.
