Difference Rule

$$\frac{d}{dx}[f(x)-g(x)]=f'(x)-g'(x)$$

Usage

- Used when differentiating a difference of functions.

Question 1

Evaluate the value of the limit:
$$L = \lim_{x \to 0} \frac{e^{x \cos x} - 1 - x}{\ln(1 + x^2 - x^3)}$$

Question 2

Evaluate $$\lim_{x \to 0} \frac{\cosh(x) - 1 - \frac{x^2}{2}}{x^4}.$$ Here, $$\cosh\left(x\right)=\ \frac{\ e^x+e^{-x}}{2}$$

Question 3

If $$\lim_{x \to 0} \frac{a \cdot \cos x + b \cdot e^{x^2} - 3}{x^4}$$ exists and is equal to a finite real number $$L$$, then the value of the constant $$b$$ is:
