Derivative of Composite Trigonometric Functions

For:

$$y=\sin u(x)$$

$$\frac{dy}{dx}=\cos u\frac{du}{dx}$$

For:

$$y=\cos u(x)$$

$$\frac{dy}{dx}=-\sin u\frac{du}{dx}$$

For:

$$y=\tan u(x)$$

$$\frac{dy}{dx}=\sec^2u\frac{du}{dx}$$

Usage

- Used whenever the trigonometric function contains a function of $$x$$ as its argument.
