Length of a Chord with Given Distance from Centre

For a chord at perpendicular distance $$d$$ from the centre, its length depends on its orientation. For a chord perpendicular to the major axis:

$$L=2b\sqrt{1-\frac{d^2}{a^2}}$$

Usage

- Used when the chord's distance from the centre and orientation are specified.
