Equation of a Diameter

A diameter of the ellipse is any chord passing through the centre.

For a point:

$$P(a\cos\theta,b\sin\theta)$$

the corresponding diameter is:

$$\frac{y}{x}=\frac{b\sin\theta}{a\cos\theta}$$

- Used to obtain the equation of the diameter through a specified point.
