Eccentric Angle

For the ellipse:

$$\frac{x^2}{a^2}+\frac{y^2}{b^2}=1$$

a point can be represented as:

$$P(a\cos\theta,b\sin\theta)$$

where $$\theta$$ is called the eccentric angle of the point.

Usage

- Used for parametric representation, tangent, normal and chord problems.
