Tangent Parallel to a Given Line
For:
$$\frac{x^2}{a^2}+\frac{y^2}{b^2}=1$$
if a tangent is required parallel to:
$$y=mx+c$$
then the tangents are:
$$y=mx\pm\sqrt{a^2m^2+b^2}$$
Usage
- Used to find the two tangents parallel to a specified line.
