Tangency of a Curve to the x-Axis
If a curve:
$$y=f(x)$$
touches the $$x$$-axis at $$x=a$$, then:
$$f(a)=0$$
and for a differentiable curve:
$$f'(a)=0$$
Usage
- Used to identify points where a curve is tangent to the x-axis.
