Tangent at a Point Using Gradient

For an implicit curve:

$$F(x,y)=0$$

the tangent at $$(x_1,y_1)$$ can be obtained from:

$$F_x(x_1,y_1)(x-x_1)+F_y(x_1,y_1)(y-y_1)=0$$

Usage

- Used to obtain tangents directly from an implicit equation without explicitly solving for $$y$$.
