Taylor Polynomial

The Taylor polynomial of degree $$n$$ about $$x=a$$ is:

$$P_n(x)=\sum_{k=0}^{n}\frac{f^{(k)}(a)}{k!}(x-a)^k$$

Terminology

- $$P_n(x)$$ → Taylor polynomial of degree $$n$$.

- $$f^{(k)}(a)$$ → kth derivative evaluated at $$a$$.

Usage

- Used for polynomial approximation of functions near a chosen point.
