Newton's Method
To approximate a root of:
$$f(x)=0$$
starting from an initial approximation $$x_n$$:
$$x_{n+1}=x_n-\frac{f(x_n)}{f'(x_n)}$$
Usage
- Used for numerical approximation of roots when an exact solution is difficult or impossible.
