Projection of a Vector on Another Vector
The scalar projection of $$\vec a$$ on $$\vec b$$ is:
$$\operatorname{proj}_{\vec b}(\vec a)=|\vec a|\cos\theta$$
or:
$$\operatorname{proj}_{\vec b}(\vec a)=\frac{\vec a\cdot\vec b}{|\vec b|}$$
Usage
- Used to find the component of one vector along another.
