Dot Product
The scalar product of vectors $$\vec a$$ and $$\vec b$$ is:
$$\vec a\cdot\vec b=|\vec a||\vec b|\cos\theta$$
where $$\theta$$ is the angle between them.
Terminology
- Dot product: A vector operation whose result is a scalar.
Usage
- Used to find angles, projections, perpendicularity, and work done by a force.
