Linear Combination of Vectors
If $$\vec a$$ and $$\vec b$$ are vectors and $$\lambda,\mu$$ are scalars, then:
$$\vec r=\lambda\vec a+\mu\vec b$$
Terminology
- Linear combination: A vector formed by multiplying given vectors by scalars and adding them.
Usage
- Used to express a vector in terms of other vectors.
