Position Vector

The position vector of a point $$P(x,y,z)$$ with respect to the origin $$o$$ is:

$$\vec{OP}=x\hat i+y\hat j+z\hat k$$

Terminology

- $$\hat i,\hat j,\hat k$$: Unit vectors along the positive $$x$$, $$y$$, and $$z$$ axes.

Usage

- Used to represent points and vectors in three-dimensional Cartesian coordinates.
