Representation of a Vector
A vector is represented by a directed line segment:
$$\overrightarrow{AB}$$
where $$a$$ is the initial point and $$b$$ is the terminal point.
Terminology
- Initial point: Starting point of the vector.
- Terminal point: Ending point of the vector.
- Direction: Direction from initial point toward terminal point.
Usage
- Used to represent displacement and other directed quantities geometrically.
