Formation with n Arbitrary Constants

If a family contains $$n$$ independent arbitrary constants:

$$F(x,y,C_1,C_2,\ldots,C_n)=0$$

then differentiation and elimination generally produces an nth-order differential equation.

Usage

- Used to determine the order of the differential equation formed from a family.
