Degree of a Differential Equation

Rarely Tested

Degree is the highest power of the highest-order derivative when expressed as a polynomial in derivatives.
Degree is defined only if the equation is polynomial in derivatives.
Example: Degree of $$\left(\frac{d^2y}{dx^2}\right)^3 + \frac{dy}{dx} = 0$$ is 3.
