Autonomous Equation by Separation

For:

$$\frac{dy}{dx}=f(y)$$

we obtain:

$$\frac{dy}{f(y)}=dx$$

Usage

- Used to solve autonomous first-order equations by separation of variables.

Question 1

A differentiable function $$f(x)$$ satisfies $$f(0) = 0$$ and:
$$f'(x) = \frac{1}{1 + [f(x)]^2}$$
Find the value of:
$$\int_0^{\frac{4}{3}} f(x) dx + \int_0^{1} f^{-1}(x) dx$$

Question 2

Solve the differential equation $$y\frac{dy}{dx} + x = \sqrt{x^2 + y^2}$$ with initial condition $$y(0) = 1.$$
