Normal Form Parameters

## Formula

For:

$$x\cos\alpha+y\sin\alpha=p$$

the coefficients satisfy:

$$\cos^2\alpha+\sin^2\alpha=1$$

## Terminologies

- $$\alpha$$ → Angle made by the normal with the positive $$x$$-axis.

- $$p$$ → Perpendicular distance of the line from the origin.

## Usage

- Used to interpret the geometric meaning of the coefficients in normal form.
