Distance of a Point from a Line

## Formula

For point $$(x_1,y_1)$$ and line:

$$Ax+By+C=0$$

the perpendicular distance is:

$$d=\frac{|Ax_1+By_1+C|}{\sqrt{A^2+B^2}}$$

## Terminologies

- $$d$$ → Perpendicular distance between the point and the line.

## Usage

- Used to find the shortest distance between a point and a straight line.
