Definite Integral

For a continuous function:

$$\int_a^b f(x)\,dx$$

is the definite integral of $$f(x)$$ over $$[a,b]$$.

Terminology

- $$a$$ → Lower limit.

- $$b$$ → Upper limit.

- $$[a,b]$$ → Interval of integration.

Usage

- Used to calculate accumulated quantities such as signed area and displacement.
