Polar of a Point on the Circle
For:
$$x^2+y^2=a^2$$
if $$(x_1,y_1)$$ lies on the circle:
$$x_1^2+y_1^2=a^2$$
then its polar:
$$xx_1+yy_1=a^2$$
is the tangent at that point.
Usage
- Used to obtain the tangent as a special case of the polar.
