Osazone Formation

Rarely Tested

$$\text{Glucose / Fructose / Mannose} + 3\text{PhNHNH}_2 \to \text{Osazone} + \text{PhNH}_2 + \text{NH}_3 + 2\text{H}_2\text{O}$$

Note: D-Glucose, D-Fructose, and D-Mannose form the same osazone because they differ in configuration only at $$\text{C-1}$$ and $$\text{C-2}$$.
