## Formula

For:

$$\sum_{k=m}^{n}ar^{k-1}$$

the sum is:

$$\sum_{k=m}^{n}ar^{k-1}=ar^{m-1}\frac{1-r^{n-m+1}}{1-r}$$

for:

$$r\ne1$$
