Middle Term of a GP

## Conditions / Special Cases

If the number of terms is odd:

$$n=2m+1$$

then the middle term is:

$$a_{m+1}=ar^m$$

It is the geometric mean of the first and last terms:

$$a_{m+1}=\sqrt{a_1a_n}$$

For positive terms:

$$a_{m+1}=\sqrt{a_1a_n}$$

## Usage

- Used to find the middle term of a GP using the first and last terms.
