Question 81

The average weight of L, M and N is 93 kg. If the average weight of L and M be 89 kg and that of M and N be 96.5 kg, then the weight (in kg) of M is ________.

Solution

$$L+M+N=93\times3=279\ .$$

$$L+M=89\times2=178\ .$$

And, $$N+M=96.5\times2=193\ .$$

So, $$L+N+2M=193+178=371\ .$$

So, $$M=\left(L+N+2M\right)-\left(L+M+N\right)=371-279=92\ .$$

A is correct choice.
