Let say ,his total wealth is x lakh .
After giving to charity,he left with 0.70x lakh.
After giving to his wife and daughter,he left with=(1-0.30-0.25)0.70x=0.315x.
According to question:
0.315x/3=42Â
or, x=42/0.105=400.
