In which year was Sanjay born?
I. Sanjay is six years older than Gopal.
II. Gopal's brother was born in 1982.
III. Sanjay's brother is two years younger than Gopal's brother who was eight years younger.
Solution
Statement 1 : S = G - 6
Statement 2 : GB born in 1982
Statement 3 : SB = 1990 , GB is 8 yrs younger than G i.e G = GB - 8
By using all 3 statements we can say G = 1982-8 = 1974 & S = 1974 - 6 = 1968.
Therefore, all I, II, III together are required to deduce the age.
