Solution

let the number of oranges bought be (x + x) = 2x dozens

total CP = 40x + 30x = 70x

total SP = $$ 45 \times 2x = 90x $$

profit = 90x - 70x = 20x

20x = 480

$$ x =\frac{480}{20} = 24 $$

number of oranges bought = $$ 2 \times 24 = 48 $$
