Question 33

A jar contains 10 red marbles and 30 green ones. How many red marbles must be added to the jar so that 60% of the  marbles will be red?

Solution

given 10 red marbles and 30 green marbles

asked that how many  red marbles  are to be added in jar so that 60% of the marbles are red

that means 40% of marbles are green

so 40% is equivalent to 30 green

then 60% will be equivalent to how many marbles

60/40*30

45

already there are 10 red marbles so more 35 marbles are to be added
