The core of solving RC lies in understanding what the author is trying to say. How he puts forth his points by using supporting logic, how he tries to make his impression on us by giving examples and also how he tries to cajole the reader by adding a tinge of sarcasm- are just the tip of the iceberg. The real question is did you understand what he wrote? Nobody can teach you RC. You only become better through the practice of asking yourself "What is he trying to say?" after reading every paragraph (or line) . Also why waste time on reading newspapers? There is no definite way to know for sure whether you are putting the above method into practice while glossing over the same. Practice RC from the study room or daily targets instead. All the best!

Do Past year Rc instead. The quality of RCs in any material out there is just not up to the level. Also, do not mark an answer till you've eliminated all the other options.
