What Is CSAB College Predictor 2026?

The CSAB College Predictor 2026 helps students check NITs, IIITs, IIEST, SPAs and other GFTIs based on the actual CSAB Special Round 1 opening and closing ranks released for 2026. Students can enter their JEE Main rank and other details to identify the institutes and programmes whose Round 1 cutoff ranges match their profile.

After the completion of JoSAA counselling, vacant seats in the NIT+ System are filled through CSAB Special Rounds. As the first-round allotment has already been completed, the predictor now uses actual 2026 Round 1 cutoff data rather than relying only on previous-year trends.

The results can help candidates understand their available options and prepare for CSAB Special Round 2. However, the tool should be used as a reference because the Round 2 cutoff may change depending on seat surrender, withdrawal, upgrades, willingness options and remaining vacancies.

How Does the CSAB College Predictor 2026 Work?

CSAB stands for Central Seat Allocation Board. It conducts Special Rounds after JoSAA to fill seats remaining vacant in NITs, IIITs, IIEST, SPAs and other Government Funded Technical Institutes in the NIT+ System.

The CSAB College Predictor compares the candidate’s details with the actual CSAB cutoff for Special Round 1 of 2026. The comparison considers factors such as institute, academic programme, quota, seat category and gender pool.

Candidates should use the appropriate rank while checking the results. Cutoffs for OPEN seats are generally shown using the Common Rank List, while cutoffs for EWS, OBC-NCL, SC and ST seats are generally shown using the respective category ranks. PwD seat cutoffs are reported using the applicable PwD rank list.

The tool displays the institute and programme combinations for which the entered rank falls within or near the actual Round 1 cutoff range. This allows students to review real allotment data and make better-informed decisions for Round 2.

CSAB also conducts separate NEUT and Supernumerary counselling processes. This college predictor primarily focuses on CSAB Special Rounds for vacant seats in the NIT+ System and should not be used for CSAB-NEUT or CSAB-Supernumerary seat predictions.

How to Use the CSAB College Predictor by Rank

Follow these steps to check colleges using the updated CSAB Round 1 cutoff data:

  • Enter your applicable JEE Main 2026 rank.
  • Select your category, such as OPEN, GEN-EWS, OBC-NCL, SC or ST.
  • Select the applicable PwD status, if any.
  • Choose your gender pool.
  • Select your home state or applicable quota.
  • Click the predict button to view matching institutes and programmes.

The tool will display colleges and branches based on the actual CSAB Special Round 1 opening and closing ranks for 2026. Students should carefully verify the quota, seat category and gender pool shown against every result. A cutoff belonging to a different category or quota should not be used to assess admission possibilities.

Students should also check the official vacant seat matrix and counselling rules before making a Round 2 decision. Meeting a Round 1 closing rank does not guarantee an allotment in Round 2 because available seats and candidate preferences can change between rounds.

CSAB College Predictor 2026 for NITs, IIITs and GFTIs

The CSAB College Predictor covers participating institutes in the NIT+ System. It uses the actual Round 1 cutoff for every available combination of institute, programme, quota, seat category and gender pool.

Institute Type

Details

NITs

National Institutes of Technology offering engineering, architecture, planning and related programmes through the NIT+ System.

IIITs

Indian Institutes of Information Technology offering programmes such as CSE, ECE, IT and specialised technology branches.

IIEST and SPAs

IIEST Shibpur and the participating Schools of Planning and Architecture included in CSAB Special counselling.

Other GFTIs

Government Funded Technical Institutes participating in the NIT+ admission system through CSAB Special Rounds.

The tentative vacancy list for CSAB Special Rounds 2026 included thousands of seats across participating institutes and programmes. However, the actual Round 1 cutoff reflects the ranks at which seats were allotted after considering candidate registrations, choices, categories, quotas and seat availability.

How to Read the CSAB Round 1 Cutoff Results

Every CSAB cutoff row represents a specific combination of institute, programme, quota, seat category and gender pool. Students should compare their details only with the exact row applicable to them.

Cutoff Field

What It Means

Opening Rank

The highest-ranked candidate allotted that particular institute and programme combination in Round 1.

Closing Rank

The last rank allotted that institute and programme combination in Round 1.

Quota

Indicates whether the cutoff applies to Home State, Other State or All India seats.

Seat Category

Shows whether the cutoff applies to OPEN, GEN-EWS, OBC-NCL, SC, ST or the corresponding PwD category.

Gender Pool

Separates gender-neutral seats from female-only seats, including supernumerary seats where applicable.

If your applicable rank is equal to or better than the Round 1 closing rank for a particular option, that option was within the allotted range in Round 1. However, this does not confirm that the same seat will remain available in Round 2.

Best Strategy to Use the CSAB College Predictor for Round 2

Start by checking the colleges and branches that match your details using the actual Round 1 cutoff. Divide the displayed options into ambitious, realistic and safer choices. This makes it easier to understand where your rank stands compared with the first-round allotment ranges.

To strengthen your preparation and improve your performance in future attempts, you can practise using the Cracku JEE Question Bank, which provides questions aligned with the latest JEE Main pattern. Following Cracku JEE Daily Targets can also help you maintain consistency and improve your speed and accuracy.

Do not assume that every option matching the Round 1 cutoff will be available in Round 2. A seat may become unavailable if it is retained by the allotted candidate. At the same time, new opportunities may appear when candidates surrender, withdraw or receive upgrades.

If you already received a seat in Round 1, understand the effect of Freeze, Float, Slide, Surrender and Withdraw before submitting your willingness. Each option affects whether your current seat is retained and whether you remain eligible for an upgrade or another allotment.

Students should compare colleges using programme preference, placement opportunities, curriculum, fees, location, infrastructure and future career goals. A preferred branch at a suitable institute may be a better choice than selecting an institute only for its name.

Always complete willingness submission, fee payment, document uploading and query responses within the official deadlines. Missing an online reporting deadline may lead to cancellation of the allotted seat.

The official CSAB website at csab.nic.in should remain the primary source for counselling schedules, seat-allotment results, reporting instructions and policy updates.
