NSEJS Previous Year Papers

NSEJS Previous Year Papers are valuable resources for understanding the difficulty level, question format, and concepts tested in the NSEJS Exam. Although the NSEJS Syllabus explains what students need to study, previous papers show how those concepts are applied in actual questions. They also help students become familiar with conceptual, numerical, experimental, and statement-based questions.

On this page, students can access year-wise NSEJS question papers with detailed solutions. Every paper will be available as a downloadable PDF containing clear explanations for all questions. Students can also attempt each question paper as an online test to practise under exam-like conditions, evaluate their preparation, and identify areas that require further revision.

How to Download NSEJS Previous-Year Question Papers PDF?

Students can download NSEJS previous-year question papers from this page by following these steps:

  1. Select the required examination year from the table.
  2. Click the “Download PDF” button beside the paper.
  3. Open or save the PDF on your device.
  4. Attempt the questions without referring to the answers.
  5. Check the detailed solutions after completing the paper.
  6. Note the questions that require additional revision.

Each PDF will contain the previous-year questions, correct answers, and detailed explanations for every question. The explanations will clarify the scientific concept, calculation, or reasoning required to reach the correct answer. This makes the PDFs useful for practice as well as concept revision.

Students who want to recreate the NSEJS Exam environment can click the “Take Test” option. They should attempt the complete question paper within the prescribed duration without using notes, textbooks, or calculators. This approach provides a more realistic assessment of speed and accuracy.

NSEJS Exam Pattern

Understanding the NSEJS Exam pattern helps students create an appropriate paper-solving strategy. According to the latest available official NSEJS question paper, the examination contained 60 objective questions to be completed in 120 minutes. The paper carried a maximum of 216 marks and consisted of two parts.

NSEJS Exam DetailPart A-1Part A-2
Number of Questions4812
Question TypeSingle-correctMultiple-correct
Marks for Correct Answer3 marks6 marks
Negative Marking1 mark deductedNo negative marking
Total Marks14472

In Part A-1, each question has four alternatives, of which only one is correct. In Part A-2, one or more alternatives may be correct. Students receive marks in Part A-2 when all the correct alternatives are selected without marking an incorrect alternative. Calculators are not permitted during the examination.

The official authorities do not prescribe permanent chapter-wise weightage for the NSEJS Exam. The number of questions asked from individual chapters can vary every year. Therefore, students should not leave chapters based only on the distribution observed in one paper.

By analysing multiple papers, students can identify recurring NSEJS Important Topics such as motion, force, work and energy, electricity, light, matter, chemical reactions, atomic structure, life processes, cells, heredity, ecology, and scientific calculations. These topics should be treated as preparation priorities rather than a guaranteed question distribution.

The NSEJS Syllabus is broadly equivalent to Science and Mathematics up to the Class 10 level. However, Olympiad questions may be more analytical and non-conventional than regular school examination questions. Students can check the latest syllabus, notices, question papers, and answer keys on the official IAPT website.

How to Analyse NSEJS Previous Year Papers

Simply completing a previous-year paper is not enough. Students need to analyse their attempts to understand which concepts and exam skills require improvement. After completing a paper, divide the questions into the following categories:

Question CategoryWhat Students Should Do
Correct with confidenceRevise the concept briefly
Correct through guessingSolve the question again without options
Incorrect due to a concept gapReturn to the relevant syllabus chapter
Incorrect due to calculationPractise similar numerical questions
Incorrect due to misreadingWork on careful question interpretation
Unattempted due to lack of timeImprove selection and time management

Students should calculate their subject-wise accuracy and record the time required to complete different types of questions. They should also maintain an error notebook containing the topic, reason for the mistake, correct concept, and solution method.

Incorrect and unattempted questions should be solved again after seven to ten days. If students can answer them correctly without checking the solution, it indicates that the underlying concept has improved.

Benefits of Solving NSEJS Previous Year Papers

Regularly solving NSEJS Previous Year Papers helps students connect their conceptual preparation with the practical requirements of the examination. It also provides a clear understanding of how simple scientific principles can be used in unfamiliar or complex situations.

The major benefits include:

  • understanding the actual difficulty level of the NSEJS Exam;
  • identifying recurring NSEJS Important Topics;
  • becoming familiar with the paper structure and marking scheme;
  • improving speed, accuracy, and question selection;
  • practising single-correct and multiple-correct questions;
  • identifying conceptual, calculation, and interpretation errors;
  • learning how concepts from different chapters may be combined;
  • improving time management under examination conditions; and
  • building confidence before the actual paper.

Students can initially solve previous-year questions chapter-wise while completing the NSEJS Syllabus. Once the syllabus is covered, they should attempt complete papers as timed tests. Every test must be followed by a detailed review of the solutions.

The purpose of solving previous papers is not only to calculate a score. Students should use every paper to identify weaknesses, revise concepts, correct recurring mistakes, and improve their overall approach. Consistent practice and careful analysis can gradually turn NSEJS previous-year papers into one of the most effective preparation resources.
