Sir/Ma’am, I would like to seek your guidance regarding my CAT preparation and FMS Delhi. My academic background is: Class 10th – 75%, Class 12th (PCM) – 54% in 2020, then I reappeared for Class 12th and scored 69% (PCM) in 2022. I completed my B.A. in Political Science with 7.72 CGPA. I am from a Hindi-medium background and currently consider myself a beginner in CAT preparation. I am seriously interested in pursuing an MBA through FMS Delhi, but I am not sure how my academic profile, especially my Class 12th scores and Hindi-medium background, may affect my chances. Should I prepare specifically for CAT with FMS as my target, and is it realistically possible for me to get FMS with a strong CAT score? I would be grateful if you could guide me honestly about my chances and the preparation strategy I should follow from the zero level.

Hi Aniket,
FMS Delhi is realistically possible, but you’ll need to compensate for the weaker academic scores with a very strong CAT performance. Your B.A. Political Science background is a positive for FMS.

Since FMS gives very high weight to CAT performance, I would suggest targeting 99.5+ percentile, preferably 99.7+, rather than preparing with a 98–99 target.
(I am considering you as a general category student and giving these approximates)

As a beginner, don't worry about starting from zero build your CAT fundamentals systematically, especially VARC and LRDI, while gradually strengthening Quant basics.

There are many Top MBA colleges other than FMS Delhi that you need to definitely add to your list so be more open and flexible for other MBA colleges aswell while keeping FMS as your primary goal.
