Sir what should be an ideal attempt for VARC? Some people suggest going for accuracy but even if I take 40 mins for 1 RC, I feel it is still dicey, I am not sure if I will get everything right even then. What to do pls advise me.

For VARC, the ideal attempts is 20 and above as it gives you enough room for errors.
Just as an example, I see most students attempting 12-13 questions. This gives you a theoretical maximum of 36-39 marks which is next to impossible to achieve. Realistically, you are looking at a score of 25-27 on a good day.
With more attempts, you have that chance of getting a decent score on a below average day also.
But you have to find the balance as well. Don't attempt for sake of attempting. It is very easy to give haft hearted attempt in VARC section as you might feel that you are solving questions because unlike quant where you have to be focussed while solving and then mark the answer. You can mark answers in VARC and feel like you are doing something. This is why, It is recommended do active reading while doing RCs which is to have a habit of writing main points of the passages.
