Rani bought more apples than oranges. She sells apples at 23rs a piece and makes 15% profit. She sells oranges at 10rs a piece and makes 25% profit. If she gets 653rs after selling all the apples and oranges, then find her profit percentage.

Hi Sumit Pradhan,
Let us consider she bought a apples and b oranges
It is given,
23a + 10b = 653 (a>b)
Only values a can take is 1, 11, 21, 31, ...
For a = 1 and a = 11; a is less than b
Therefore, a = 21 and b = 17
Selling price of apples = 23(21) = 483
Cost price of apples = 483/1.15 = 420
Selling price of oranges = 10(17) = 170
cost price of oranges = 170/1.25 = 136
Total profit = 63 + 34 = 97
Profit percentage = 97/556 * 100 = 17.4%
Hope this helps!
