In a race, X beats Y and Z by 30 and 20 metres respectively.Y beats Z by 12 metres.if all of them run at uniform speed what is the length of the race?

I think there's a small error in the question. X beats Y by 20 meters and Z by 30 meters, and Y beats Z by 12 meters.
Let the distance be 'd'
Ratio of speeds of X, Y and Z = d : d-20 : d-30
Ratio of speeds of Y and Z = d : d-12
=> (d-20)/(d-30) = d/(d-12) => d = 120 meters
So, length of the race = 120 meters
