if x, y, z are three positive numbers such that (A-x) :(A-y) :(A-z) =1:7:4 and 2A=x+y+z then x:y:z = ?

Assume, A-x=k, A-y=7k, A-z=4k (To convert the given ratios to values) Adding the 3 eqn. given above , 3A-x-y-z=12k Given 2A=x+y+z , therefore 3A-2A=12k, A=12k x=A-k, y=A-7k,z=A-4k (from ratio eqn.) Substituting A as 12k, we get x=11k, y=5k, z=8k x:y:z= 11:5:8
