If 30 men were hired to complete a job in a fixed time. After 40 percent of time elapsed, they could finish only one-third of the work. Due to some reason, the job has to be completed in two-third of the original time. At least, how many more men should be hired to finish the job within this time?

Your method is right but answer is wrong 600/8 is 75 not 50
So additional men required will be 75-30 which is 45

m sorry now i am describing the way ie. fix the time to be 30 minutes,
let the work to be done is 30*30 =900
so, 30*.4 =12 minutes 1/3 of the work ie 300 units are completed
remaining 600 unit are to be now finished in 8 minutes (2/3 of original time -12 minutes)
therefore 600/8=50 as one unit is done by a person in one minute so 50-30 men = 20
