I got 98.7 percentile in VARC in CAT 2019 paper without any preparation (Accuracy 21/24) and considered this to be my strength. But I am scoring my very bad in my sectionals till now. Now I start to think if my 2019 performance was just by luck and this is my real standard. I want to know if these VARC sectionals are harder than the CAT papers?

@Arjun, what you are experiencing is not uncommon. The recurring theme in Cracku's tests as spoken by Maruti Sir in a YouTube video regarding their questions is that VARC being tough is a deliberate choice. What happens with this is our minds get prepared to answer even the seemingly tough questions in the real CAT. Although you might feel that sometimes the Cracku reasons mentioned for the answers are purely wrong or have no basis, trust the process and say your mind is being prepared for the toughest. This will automatically render you better than your 2019 score. Try it out for yourself, by taking old CATs in November and the answers will come naturally to you. I too face this sometimes but have reassured myself with the process. Fellow aspirants can add to this thread if they too feel the same. This is my humble opinion. Hope it helped. Thanks.

I scored 95.xx in CAT 2018 but after seeing 80 percentile ish on Cracku's mocks, I feel slightly disheartened. But I agree with what some of you have said in the thread. This is also indirectly ensuring that we dont become too complacent about VaRc :)

Yep! . scored 99.89 in VARC CAT 2019 without any preparation. But now, after solving few questions, i feel the same too.

Just posting in this thread to inquire if you guys also feel that the complexity in some Hard RCs might lead our brain to even attempt the easy RCs with a lot criticality and might develop a fear to attempt less?
can someone enlighten?

Those who score 40+ out of 69 in these papers, what's the strategy you use?

My strategy is messed up this way. I want to go for higher accuracy rather than higher attempts. But because accuracy is going for a toss with such a paper, I don't know what to do now.
