I am getting 97ish % at around 45 marks in VARC.Is this an accurate predictor of actual percentile in cat, roughly speaking?

can you pls suggest your strategy ?

Nikhil 5y ago

Yes, It would be very helpful if you could share your strategy for VARC. Since the reduction in sectional timings my scores in VARC have taken a serious hit.

That's good enough, can you share some details/strategy on how to increase score at around 30-40 marks at least bro ?

not an expert but reading The Economist will definitely increase your stamina and understanding of dense material, we don't have a lot of time to read story books( for people who are working), my percentile in VARC are as follows: 48,59,85,98 it surely helped me.

Mistake i made: Not considering VA as important as RC. Because with reduced time now, VA is equally important. I never do all the RCs, i scan the first para roughly to get the topic and look for the passage which has too many inference based questions ,generally there is one such RC in every mock so i leave that and do the rest. Then in the end i go for the VA,you may switch but i don't like to break the flow of solving Rcs. That's it.

Hi Rahul, I have shifted to this same strategy since last few mocks and it's working well for me. However, when I take a look at the past CAT papers, the VA section appears tougher than what we see in the mocks (esp. Cracku's VA section). I am worried that this strategy might not prove effective on the day. What do you think?
