I am a general non engineer female CAT aspirat with 94% in both 10 and 12th and 7.9 cgpa in grad. I gave my first attempt in 3rd year of college wherein i scored 62%ile. I took a drop after college and prepared and improved my score in CAT20 to 89%ile- 91 quant, 95 dilr, 56 varc. I have offer letters from TAPMI, GIM. I think i can do better in my next attempt but i have apprehensions since i dont have any job rn. I am too unsure how should i progress as i have decent acads but drop years will also increase. Please do justice to your academics. Plus with being female and non eng will put you in great spot for top 10. I myself am in a similar spot where I have offer letter from these 2 and IMT-G but i dont want to regret 4-5 months down the line that i could have given another shot at my dream b school (provided i have the drive to continue).
Ideally get a job and continue with your prep or else if you dont get the job, you can use this time to improve your profile (like i am starting with CFA). Plus hopefully things might get better next year in regards to corona so that angle is there too. No doubt Tapmi and GIM are decent options but in the end its about do you have the the drive to continue and do that all over again. Tier 2 and 3 colleges will also give you opportunities (also your profile will be better than most) but it wont give Satisfaction.
I am saying all this because few days back someone else said this to me when I was in doubt so trying to reciprocate xD. Best wishes for whatever you decide.

Hey, I would suggest you to enroll in an online MSc course, wont take up much time and effort, you can prep for cat simultaneously. Your year wont go to waste either acc to the documents.
